Old FCV didn’t lose players to ECNL, it took them from ECNL. Not saying SYC will replicate what FCV did for 10 years, but maybe.
Old FCV also had a unique situation that is unlike SYC. SYC's downfall will always be field space and allocation, they simply don't have enough quality fields to spread around between GA, MLS Next, and their other teams. Old FCV GA only had to worry about their teams specifically and had a pretty good field agreement until they lost it, so training sessions were solid.
I bet Union has the same situation on field space with county fields.
This is exactly why VRSC is the GA club that will succeed in the DMV. It is the same staff that built FCV into what it was and they’ve solved FCV’s one serious weakness, which was fields.

As she thinks about where to play next season, I would love to hear from 2012G ECNL parents on (1) whether you expect your DD’s current coach to stay at U13G (2013) next season and (2) if so, your thoughts on what types of players do best (or not) with that coach. We are open to all 5 ECNL clubs next season. Thanks in advance.

I guess we didn't get a timely update because Arlington dad didn't want to advertise that Arlington was 5th in the standings after all of that chest thumping at the start of the season
Arlington plays alexandria this weekend in Tampa. That will be a tell on where they stand.

Once 1-2 girls leave, most of the girls that can land on an ECNL team will head for the exits. I think that happens this upcoming year.
I don't see that happening, if anything, immigration could go the other direction. SYC12s are technical and athletic top to bottom -- why leave this team? SYC12s have guaranteed GA playoffs and national exposure every year, maybe not at the level of a top ECNL team, but good enough.
Guaranteed GA playoffs? They are currently only 3rd place in the mid-atlantic and only 2 make the playoffs so hardly guaranteed.
Thats not what is showing here:

SYC 12GA is in 1st place, undefeated after 8 games up on SJEB on Goal Differential, who is also undefeated after 9 games. But yes, it's not a guarantee to make the playoffs, the race is tight for the top teams.
I do think a few girls from ECNL, with little playing time and due to bloated rosters might try to come over to SYC GA. Conversely, I think a few kids might leave SYC GA and tryout for ECNL teams. Tryout season will be interesting indeed.
What 2012 ECNL team has a bloated roster?!
All the ECNL Teams have 17-18 kids on the rosters this year.... but next year is what the above poster is talking about. Everyone knows as they teams age, they grow in size -ECNL clubs just keep adding players. Most 2012 rosters will grown to 20+ kids the following year.
