They don't get paid OT. The schools should start changing $5.00 per minute if parent is late picking up child.

15-20 min is not the end of the world. We usually take 2 cars to parties we are hosting as Dh and I are usually tag teaming, picking up the cake, picking up balloons, etc.

Since these are your kid’s friends, I would think that they would enjoy hanging out while waiting.

I hate tardiness. I have 3 kids and often have conflicts. If I was running late, I would have asked another parent to drive my kid home.

I agree that parents should be on time for pickup and I think most families plan to be on time (or reach out if there are potential conflicts). That said, with so many late to one party, I'd assume some sort of traffic or parking issue was in play. I hope they acknowledged being late.

However, the anger here seems over the top. We probably have had at least one family be late at every party we've ever held (two kids, grown past these sorts of events) - and I couldn't tell you who a single one of them was (despite being long term at same school). This is because it just doesn't matter and my kids enjoyed hanging with theirs until the very end....even if it was in the lobby.
