Same. I'm neither a Beyonce or Dolly fan nor a country music fan. But I've always liked Dolly's Jolene, and I like Beyonce's remake too. I like how Beyonce tweaked the lyrics, too. I don't like any of the other songs.

Dolly seems to like her just fine. Of course she's not Dolly Parton! She's her own person!

I quite liked the album actually and it was kind of definitely NOT a country album although a lot of country influences. The Miley song is great.

I just listened to Beyonce's version of "Jolene" and I don't like it. The lyrics are reworked to be empowering or threatening or something. Beyonce might've produced the best version of the song ever (and this song has been covered extensively) if she kept the lyrics as originally written. Whitney Houston covered "I Will Always Love You" and turned a beautiful song into a masterpiece. Beyonce missed an opportunity, imo.


It was so cringe and embarrassing. I'd kill my husband if he wrote a song about me cheating on him.
