This is why Gen Z is calling it “Bethezdump” on social media
They can't afford it so they don't want it
I’m not Gen Z, middle age. But I can totally see why the young kids these days call it boring and a dump.
There is no way I would live in Bethesda if I was young and single. No way. Boring.
Let’s be real here. Even if they had the money, they wouldn’t be living in Bethesda. No, the kids with money from wealthy parents are buying places in the city like Logan Circle, Navy Yard, Shaw, Union Market.

Everything is dense but not in a good way like it is in DC (Capitol Hill, Navy Yard, etc..)
Honestly, if you are going to live in the burbs anyway, instead of being an imposter of the city, move out a little further like potomac or mclean and better houses, bigger yards, and just nicer neighborhoods and aesthetics.
This 100%

You don't need to be rich to be in Bethesda. The old construction/teardown type property is everywhere

Gen z can’t afford Bethesda and fundir boring so why would they call it a dump? Gen z is in DC proper, and goes out on U st, Adams Morgan, and 14th st
