Wait until you find out that GA and ECNL are pretty much the same thing.

Only difference is the clubs involved.

And the college recruiting.

welcome to northern va soccer wait until u get on the sidelines

GA does not play around when it comes to expectations of behavior from the sidelines. Particularly at their GA events they will fine clubs that have an out of control sideline. I'm unsure if it also comes into play during league play but I would imagine so.

You have to tune this out. Seriously.

On top of that, the GA is getting worse every year. The carry over DA teams like FCV had brought college coaches to their events but with them and other clubs in the DA now a shell of themselves, you will see fewer and fewer coaches at their events.

GA is getting worse every year? What's the metric on that?

And DA carry overs are a shell of themselves? You really should educate yourself before you make statements like that. Is GA on the same level currently as ECNL? No. But carryover clubs like FCV, Nationals, or TopHat have all had and maintained success post DA fallout. FCV has made some pretty poor business decisions and it is looking like they will now be a shell of themselves but to say that ex-DA clubs have all become worse and GA as a league has become worse is foolish.

Year after year GA has increased its share of the percentage of college commits, even to D1. A lot of the clubs that went into GA, they continued the USSF DA training model standard and it's worked. Give the turf war more time and the market will work itself out. MLS Next is the top of the boys pyramid, that tends to shut out clubs from access to the ECNL girls platform. If this trend continues and clubs that have access to MLS Next just field teams in GA for girls, the market will shift.

This is spot on. I think initially during the DA debacle a bunch of top teams went to ECNL understandably because of uncertainty. Some would have but hopped but were not allowed in. The first couple of years in ga were rough with national level teams playing against weak entry teams. If anything they seemed to have gained footing since then. There is much more competition in league. If you’re on a very good ga team with a connected coach then you are going to do just as good recruiting wise as being on a very good ecnl team. Former FCV is an example of this. Every player singed last year( 22 I think) except one that chose not to. There were only 4-5 of those that did not sign with a d1 college and that is because they chose not to and not because they couldn’t. The platform is there to get you to the next level if you’re on a good team.

Pro tip: many (most) of the posters here coach or work for the clubs

ECNL ID sessions will start March 1. Seems like they are trying to be ahead of that.

ECNL is whenever you want it to be. People started coming in for practices in January.

That’s true for girls who aren’t currently playing ECNL or ECNL-RL. Girls on those teams can’t go to trainings with other ECNL clubs til March 1. I suspect there may be a decent contingent of ECNL-RL girls who look into a GA opportunity if they haven’t been successful making an ECNL team yet.
