It needs more urban vibrancy, density and bike lanes, of course!

I don't think there was ever a big bar/restaurant scene, which is now evolving and will liven it up a bit (there was the sports bar, maggianos, and booeymonger?). I think the redevelopment will really liven it up once there are a lot more apartments and more experiential retail+food options

Cleveland Park was more of that type of thing. When Maggies & Armands closed at TC, that took a big chunk of any nightlife you had there.
Tenleytown has been Tenleytown for well over 100 years. And the Tenleytown Metro station has always been the Tenleytown Metro station, never the Tenley Circle Metro station.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Friendship Heights was dead long before Covid… the days of Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx were not its healthy years. When it first emerged as a shopping area, it was the go-to for luxury, but City Center took all those stores. The rest went to Bethesda row or Pike and Rose. I remember reading in a survey group report that one respondent viewed FH as a dead zone between Tenleytown and Bethesda. Crazy to think that fifteen years ago, those were both unremarkable and people came from all over for FH.
Tenleytown and Bethesda were "unremarkable" in 2009? How about that.
