Sounds like Riverside is good in boys lax, but 5A.
Can you explain to me what the difference between 5a and 6a is?
Size of the school. 6A is generally 2000+ students
Yes, I know that. Just wanted to unformed to say that 6 is better then 5 or 4 (because its s higher number). The only thing it designates is the size of the school, and many times that is not even accurate as team file "protests" to stay up/down all the time- happened a bunch this year!
Again, I will say as I said before on this thread. Class 4 Atlee was the best 2023 team in VA Public HS lacrosse, regardless of Class. And no I am from NOVA, so its not like I like them. Note- I said VHSL PUBLIC HS team in VA (for the guy that wanted to argue PVI last time)
Atlee smoked Dominion in the 4a final last year and had an easy time with Riverside during the regular season and has almost everyone back so agree they are the best boys public hs lax program in VA.
Guys. We’ve lost focus. Let’s get back to loudon county girls rec. how we looking Dulles south?
Dulles South needs to fold, stick a fork in them!
Dulles South has produced more college players than just about any club out there
Dulles South is a joke, what have the high schools that dulles south players feed into done. Nothing!
Wow! It is just a rec team... I agree that many of the Loudoun High Schools are working with what they have and a good amount of better players in the area roll the dice and try to be a starter at PVI. But, I do know some of the HS Lacrosse coaches that are great people and are trying their best to make something work.
Everybody with Dulles South thinks they can roll into PVI and play. Too many kids think that! Plenty of Public Schools in the county that have great coaches if the kids would give it a chance (Riverside, Champe, Indy, Freedom).

I believe we would have to settle that on the field. Atlee vs Madison would be interesting.
In general, the larger schools have the best teams, especially when you are looking at field sports. Does anyone really believe that a 4A or 5A football team could have beaten Freedom (Woodbridge) last year...?
What about for girls lacrosse? Any 4 or 5A teams better than Oakton was? Probably not. In any case, when is a Loudon Co girls lacrosse team going to compete at the state championship level?
Stone Bridge played Freedom the closest last year (a 5A team).
Western Albermarle beat Dominion in the 4A state finals (the same Dominion team that smoked Riverside and Independence during the regular season). They could beat Oakton.

Now #13 and 1 are Srs and should help carry a younger squad.
If they can hold off BW this year, they should repeat again.
Going forward into 25, you will see BW/ Indy catch and/or pass them.
Even with Riversides current Sophomore class? They had 4 freshmen starters last year, who does BW/Indy have in that class better then those kids that are going to beat them in 25?
I'll weigh in here. Don't want to speak for BWHS but I can to IHS. Would like to know your idea of what a starter is too, but I will go with mine- includes boys that either "start" the game or the first off the bench in terms of getting an LSM or SSDM off and a Off. Mid in game.
By my count at IHS when the 2025s are seniors and 2026 juniors. 16 boys who started/first-on varsity since freshman year.
An even breakdown of nine 2025's and seven 2026's who have played varsity since they were frosh and as starters/ first-in with significant minutes. These boys are spread evenly between G, Pole, Mid, FoGo, SSDM, LSM and Atk. There looks to be a handful of 2027's that will be varsity this year too gaining valuable experience too.
While a core of four boys starting at RVHS is impressive, IHS will have 4X that amount by spring 2025.
New HCs at Indy and BW so let's see how that plays out (Riverside has a huge edge there from a consistency/culture perspective)

The key word here is "has". I am afraid the future for Dulles South Lacrosse is going to drop... I am saying this from having a kid go through the Dulles South Rec
Seems like there is room for Dulles South to stay strong. Several Pride Red 2027s and VA Metro on their 7/8 Rec team who won the championship last year. Clubs seem supportive of girls continuing to play with their rec teams. Why can't that continue?
Where it gets challenging is if girls also play for their private schools--3 teams is a bit much.
If the girls lax dad’s could quit hijacking every post it would be nice. I posted about DS and have no clue about the girls side this thread has become really hard to follow. Was any of the comments prior related to boys or girls? FYI pride seems crazy to have a coach arrested? And I thought some boys clubs were crazy.
