Why is it "pointless" to be clean if you are outside a lot? I assume they are not rolling around in the dirt like my dog.


Europeans don't have to struggle with the high humidity and stickiness of our east coast here. When they walk around outdoors, it doesn't leave you a soggy mess.

Sounds like my mother. I am very unlike her. Though we wear similar clothing from the same brands, she is always neat and -- my whole life -- I just get messy easily. My shirt always comes untucked, my hair curls wildly despite treatments, my shoes get scuffed, you name it ... it happens to me. I'm like Pig Pen while she's 100% put together, always. No clue how she does it despite my efforts to replicate many of her habits.


My spouse is the same. While FIL always looks impeccable, son's pants are showing underwear waistband, half a shirt untucked, hair a little wild, etc.
FIL spends an hour each morning hot coming his hair into control. He always wears a jacket and tie. At repose on the couch is his favorite position. He doesn't lift a finger to do ANYTHING. Always yelling for MIL to do this, do that.
Son works his a$$ off, always harried about some deadline. I infinitely prefer the son over the FIL.

Many non rich people look like this. Many rich do not.

I have that look usually and it's so easy.

- good haircut and color
- simple jewelry or none
- short nails, manicured
- very little makeup
- classic clothing
- good shoes, low or no heel
- no perfume
- good quality handbag, no bling

- not too tan (speaking about white women, I am one)
- blow dry hair
- colorful clothes, loud jewelry, patterns: pick ONE at a time or none
- simple makeup, normal natural nails in a neutral color or clear
- clothes that fit but are not too trendy and not too tight

NP here. To name a few, Oprah definitely vibes quiet classy wealth to me, as do Michelle Obama, Talisa Soto, Salma Hayek, and Lupita Nyong’o. And white women with dark hair who do are Jackie O (rip), Audrey Hepburn (rip) and Ina Garten. I could go on. But I get your point.


You’re joking right? Salma has her boobs hanging out in nearly every outfit. She may be married to a rich man but her look is trash.

There many Latin women who dress with elegance, she is not amongst them.


These are celebrities, not people with "quiet wealth." Complete opposite.

What? We love color, gold, jewelry. Over the last several years, there are more muted colors available, but I don't see Persian/Indian women with a wardrobe full of neutrals.


I see UC Persian and Indian women in Ralph Lauren style clothing /neutrals all the time. Perfect manners, perfect hair and makeup, high quality fabrics, fancy degrees, and a Cartier or Patek Phillipe watch.

The only thing loud about them is their car. One woman I know like this blows her subtle money appearance when you see her getting out of her Lamborghini.

She’s obviously wearing linen, and that’s what linen looks like when it’s been worn for any period of time. The rich don’t wear a polyester blend if they can avoid it.

Also, we are far less rich than she is and even we have a daily housekeeper who irons all our clothing. Ironed clothing definitely contributes to the rich, well-groomed look - whereas your posting that photo just shows you don’t understand quality fabrics.


And what’s why most people don’t wear linen.
