Rather than a third party, which has zero chance of winning under our current system, we should be advocating for ranked choice voting and publicly funded campaigns. Much more effective.

No, we do not need a serious realignment. We need two serious parties who both want one thing: to govern for the benefit of us all.

Right now women have functionally been stripped of their citizenship in forced birther states. That will go nationwide if the GOP gets back into power, and no moronic third party voting will ReAlIgN anything. It’ll just mean that more women end up carrying children they don’t want. Right now the earth is beginning to burn, with major heat waves oppressing millions. Species are dying for want of suitable habitat. Desertification is going to be a big problem in some areas, insufficient food will become more common if we allow this to go on. Climate refugees will become a serious problem. Voting for a third party loser is going to mean an acceleration of this process. Republicans will get back in office and nothing will be done.
