Lots and lots of evil people come from great homes with no trauma. The columbine murderers, Bernie Madoff, Sam Bankman fried, that guy who murdered a family in Connecticut (but not before raping a daughter-- maybe 10 or 11-- in front of the mom).
Most people who grew up with trauma do not go on to commit crimes.
I don't believe trauma is an excuse at all. And I grew up with trauma. It doesn't make you do anything. If anything, it makes it clear why you shouldn't.
