You can’t compare Bethesda, a suburb located 5 minutes outside a city, and Ashland, which is located 45 minutes out from Richmond. Yes, Loudoun and Prince William both have some country people.

While I agree that Bethesda and Ashland are not comparable, Ashland is not 45 min from Richmond, it's like 15 min, 20 tops. 45 minutes out has you in Spottsylvania.

Is Spotsylvania considered to be in NoVA or RVA? It feels country either way.

I consider spotslyvania to be central VA.

And yes I have been to Goochland and Ashland, and mechanicsville due to family. They aren’t necessarily the middle of nowhere country. You can be to Richmond or to shops/outlets/civilization within minutes. It reminds me of somewhere like Clifton or Davidsonville…areas with lots of acres, but near things to do.
