Mainstream what?
The mainstream of voter sentiment, perhaps?
Voters love teachers and vote as teachers tell them to vote.
The MCEA loves their Apple Ballot candidates that push through extra time off for employees at a time students need face to face instruction.
Parents should boycott voting for the Apple Ballot if you want independent decision making and oversight of MCPS by the Board of Ed.
I'll make my voting decisions independently, thank you.

Agreed. I am so sick of the small minority of parents who think they run the county with their “advocacy”. They act like we should all be so thankful for all that they do. I’m sorry- you don’t speak for me so please stop acting like anyone owes you anything. These parents know who they are. They are even worse because they bully others who don’t fall in line.
Agree. 100%. This was evident with the busing plan they tried to ram through. These east county progressives said that increasing diversity was the most important thing they could do for the students. 90% of the county disagrees with them when they were asked in the boundary analysis.
Sigh. This again? 90% of a few self-selected respondents.
+1 Also, can I get a link to the busing plan? Where is it? /s

That seem patently untrue. The posts here are by
Outright hostile to teachers. The truth is the mainstream consistently reelected these people because they're doing a fine job even if a few board trolls don't agree.
The alternative is typically crazy right wing nut jobs. I'd rather have a union-supporter than a racist who demands never looking at school boundaries. When there has been someone not crazy not on the Apple Ballot (Lynne Harris), I and the rest of the mainstream voted for them.

As far as listening to groups of students, have you seen BOE member Lynne Harris's campaign information, Lynne for Students? She also gave up some of her testimony time to students before she was a Board member.
You know what? I don't care what a group of teenagers think. Their frontal lobes are not fully developed, they are not paying property taxes, and only a small few are old enough to vote.
Ad far as I am concerned, what a group of teenagers thinks is irrelevant. What parents want - that is important. Work with your principal, your PTA, MCCPTA, even Board of Education members directly to get what you need for your child.
Teenagers are the ones in school. They know what they need to succeed. A bunch of out of touch, lunatic parents know far less about student needs but go off.

LOL.
I don’t know anyone who could name more than one BOE member off the top of their head.
That's easy. Here's some simple messaging who can help clarify who to vote for next election.
DON'T VOTE FOR INCUMBENTS!
Because the opponents will be so much better!![]()
