You haven’t witnessed it? That’s another way of saying you’re just making sh*t up. I’ve been to multiple college sporting events attended by thousands of people (sometimes hundreds of thousands of people) in deeply red states over the last year, and I don’t remember seeing a single MAGA hat or flag on campus. In fact, the only place I’ve seen people wear MAGA hats is DC. I know someone who isn’t a Trump fan who bought one from a street vendor in DC purely because he knew it would trigger the locals. I don’t know who voted for whom, but the vast majority of people (even in red states, in college or not) are just not that obsessed with politics.

Look at the back of the pickup truck flying the confederate flag and there will usually be a second pole with a trump flag.

Poster that did the tour of Auburn last month here-

I didn't see a single confederate flag or Trump flag/hat. And we drove there from--get this!--West Virginia! Two days before we drove down, we attended the WVU/Iowa State football game--no Trump/Confederate stuff there either!
Also visited University of Alabama several months ago and did not see them.

Did you read the post that started this discussion? The point was that it was clearly performative. It becomes annoying (if not necessarily offensive) when it becomes theater to show how “good” you are. It becomes offensive when it is used to stifle communication from people who have opinions, or even just characteristics, that don’t fit neatly within the current liberal orthodoxy (See, for example, the comment above about how people who mentioned this “clearly don’t want anyone who isn’t white attending college.”).

I’m laughing! We had a similar experience at Gettysburg (not the vomit) but DC was turned off by all the woke stuff and virtue signaling .

We toured a dozen colleges and the tour guides shared their pronouns at almost every single school. I think this is the norm.

We took a tour at Auburn about a month ago, and the guide did not share his (I'm assuming) pronouns. I don't really see the point--it's not an ongoing relationship, it's a 90 minute tour. I'm not going to be talking to his friends and family later about how "he" did this or that.

Boston College: very classic college feel

BU: too tucked away in the city, couldn’t even find parking

Harvard: didn’t tour but drove by and people were treating it like a tourist attraction

Holy Cross: really pretty campus and nice dorms and library

Tufts: hilly and kinda bland

Haverford: forgettable

Dickinson: very beautiful campus next to but not enveloped by the local city and nice dorm buildings
