To the people complaining about how long it takes to charge an electric car. Rent a Tesla, take a road trip. Decide if it’s inconvenient or not for your lifestyle. The amount of baseless speculation is just ridiculous.

don't know how large your dogs are, but the tesla model Y (even without the long rang option) would fit the bill. can go up to ~320 miles on a single charge. you would make it to your beach house with no problem or need to stop and charge.

Have you actually taken an electric car on a long drive or are you just repeating something you heard once?

I've got an electric car and take it to Vermont and South Carolina several times a year, it's really not hard in the slightest. Yes, the trip takes a little longer overall, but Vermont only takes a single 40 minute charging stop and considering you'd need to stop for gas and food in an ICE car anyway you're really not adding any time at all since you can eat while you charge. SC is definitely a little less convenient, it takes 3 charging stops that are about 30 minutes long, but again when considering gas and food breaks it really adds less than an hour to the drive.

Tesla fanboys are so annoying.

We bought a Kia Sorento plug in hybrid. It was $$$ due to the chip shortage I think. But we love it. We have two tweens and a large dog. We have driven more than 1,000 miles with only a half a tank of gas. We charge it every night in our garage. Highly recommend if you’re in the market (though maybe wait for prices to come down.)

The new Tesla Model S Plaid gets 100 miles extra range in just 10 min of charging. The hysteric range anxiety and “gas is quicker” cranks are likely just boomers and apartment dwellers.
