There's 3 on my daughters GA (socal) team that switched from ECNL. One started out playing with our club. Switched to an ECNL club for 2 seasons. Then came back to our GA club again. The other 2 were double dipping in both leagues at different times but ultimately chose GA.
Also there's a reason that I know that both leagues are nearly identical. Other than some of the super clubs. For us once we realized that both leagues are very similar we chose the club that practices 10 minutes from our house.
ECNL and GA are nearly identical?

Will HS MA teams have less games or play teams twice?
There will still be 13 teams after the net loss of 2, so don't see teams playing each other twice. The division might go from 8 playoff spots to 7 and some clubs will probably add another ECNL event or showcase to pick up more matches, but that's probably it.
I would really like to see the MA merge in the MD teams from the North Atlantic division and send Charlotte and Wilmington to the SE and the remaining NA teams to the NE. That would form a pretty strong division going from Baltimore to Raleigh. Raliegh might balk at the additional travel to Baltimore vs Charlotte and Wilmington but would be better for the rest of us.
