Thats not easy as a single woman and mother.
It’s so sad what people say about them knowing nothing.
I would never do a show like that
Theresa sounds like a go getter - she taught herself everything she needed to know to become a financial professional and pass the various series 7, 9, etc., which are NOT easy to pass. She may be needy personally, but she sounds like she has been strong and ambitious in her professional life, for sure.
I have it on good authority that we don't "know" these reality contestants in any real sense, and this is all illusory.
You are mis-understanding or just trying to be a tool. Objective facts like Theresa passing exams does say something about her abilities or past ambitions. The fact that most of what you saw on tv was the producers choice to show her fawning over Gerry, and very little was Gerry fawning over her, does not mean that Gerry wasn't fawning over Theresa or that Theresa didn't have other moments where she was chilling with Gerry. You have to take what you have seen ON THE SHOW with an understanding that it was picked by the producers and put together in such a way to create a storyline.
That said, no one forced Kathy to repeatedly say that Theresa was "dumb as a rock." Only Kathy could choose to use those words about someone else. A nice person would not say that. So the act of saying it does reflect poorly on Kathy. But, you also have to take it in the context that Kathy may have been asked something by the producers before she said that. And the producers made decisions about how often to put that on the show and how much time they gave to that particular conflict vs. other discussions in the house with other people. Likewise, no one forced Theresa to say she was horrified that Kathy was hurt by her enthusiasm, and she hoped they could be friends again. Yes, the producers chose to show that clip, but those words are Theresa's words and that also reflects on who Theresa is as a person.
What Gerry and Theresa do after the show (i.e. from Sept. 1- forward) is more "real" than the packaged version you were fed by the producers during the airing of the show. The wedding will be packaged for sure. But Gerry and Theresa still have agency over the choices they are making before and after the wedding. That is "reality" more than the 40 min. of clips you saw every Thurs night for 2 months. (an hour show is really only 40 min. of footage taken from 400 hours of footage).
Do you know these people based on that 40 min? Well, their own actions tell you something about their personalities that is "real." Be careful how far you take your conclusions based on seeing the tip of the iceberg.
