So I agree with pretty much everyone who couldn’t stand the new Miranda but isn’t that kind of the point. She changed. She left her faithful husband for a person who didn’t even want to define their relationship. Miranda portrayed what it’s like when people make a terribly selfish decision, they really are only thinking of themselves. The viewers who’ve “known” her for decades realize how much she’s strayed from her true self but that’s life a lot of the times, especially when one has lived a life that put others (kids, spouse, parents) ahead of their own needs. My point is that it’s true to the human form to be incredibly unlikable when making the choices she’s made and the writers were more authentic by not making the viewers take her side.

Che was Big, Miranda was Carrie, Steve was Aidan. Charlotte was still Charlotte, dressed like Mrs. Maisel.

Miranda was a crap person. Literally mocking and acting offended that Carrie might hope there’s an afterlife where she can see her dead husband, acting like that’s an affront to Miranda somehow. Skipping Carrie’s Paris trip to go watch someone who isn’t even her partner go film a tv pilot—after Che didn’t even clue them in privately that that’s what they were doing. Turning down an internship her professor/friend went out on a limb to get her. And that’s just in this episode!

...and? You either convert to Judaism, or you don't. And you would think someone committed enough to give up Christmas (which we saw was hard for her) and make traditional foods from scratch and learn the Torah and recite prayers and a ceremony in Hebrew is a true convert.

Sorry - posted too soon. I just mean people mix beliefs and we shouldn't be shocked. People are complex. My mom is a Catholic who doesn't believe in hell. I don't get it myself, considering the whole thing about catholic guilt....but she was born and raised catholic, the whole shebang, the rosary and church and everything.
