Apparently some of the ICE agents are drinking on the job

The brand new agents are idiots,” an experienced ICE agent assigned to homeland security investigations told me. This same sentiment was echoed by virtually everyone I talked to, with several conveying the view that Pretti’s death was the fault of some skittish young recruit who panicked when he heard the word “gun” (if that’s what happened).

Even one of the new ICE recruits agreed with the experienced agent’s low assessment of the Trump freshman class. “A lot of the guys,” he said, referring to the new ICE recruits he worked alongside, “are honestly pretty sketchy.”

The new ICE officer continued: “I thought federal agents were supposed to be clean cut but some of them pass around a flask as we are watching a suspect,” observing as well that the new guys “have some weird tattoos.”

You can see him hop/startle at the sound of the first shot, but the gun is motionless.

You can see the bullet hit the ground in that video you just linked. Doesn’t justify shooting the man, but his gun did fire.

I don’t see that. I see his step change because he’s reacting to the sound of a shot. The gun doesn’t move.

I do think that it was a bad shot re: Pretti. I also can see how with all the whistles, screaming, pushing of ICE, etc, how they might be on a razor's edge. And that's how people get killed, sadly.

Our government is not following the law. THEY are the ones threatening the peace. People are defending themselves and their communities. In other words, don't nothin, won't be nothin. If ICE stopped their invasion of cities and went back to conducting their work as they traditionally have, people will have no reason to continue having to defend themselves and their communities. But you don't get to bring violence into people's homes and demand they passively take it. I'm really not surprised the entire MAGA movement seems entirely unable to comprehend that they can't just bully the rest of the country into submission so they can shape the country into their vision.

Anyone can see who is bullying who, no matter what language you speak. Murdered men, women beaten, grandmothers ziptied, naked grandfathers in arctic cold, children kidnapped. Legal US citizens and legal immigrants!!!!!!!!!! 7 men on one woman, and you all think she's the bully.

This is an insane thing to say.

If government, at any level, chooses to put law enforcement on the streets and arm them and authorizes them to use deadly force, it is the GOVERNMENT'S responsibility to make sure that force is only used in the narrowest of circumstances. They don't get to deprive you of your life because of whistles, screaming, and pushing.

This is a very basic tenet of freedom that people seem to be willing to give away, especially if they believe their "side" is in the right. You do realize that if you "win," when that force is turned on you there won't be anything to stop it.
