Historically I think they've usually had one team per age group, and occasionally combined years when necessary for numbers, although I think they are trying for a higher participation level this year and hopefully that won't happen.

on the coach, I think it'd be reasonable to email the USL-Y director (DB) with questions about coaching before accepting if you're in one of the potentially affected age groups.

No clue why GFR gave her the "Age Group Director" title after the Riverbend circus. Are the parents that were willing to go along with that going along for the TSJ ride now?

Anyone that willingly takes their DD to TSJ should be referred to child protective services. It might be the worst-performing GA club in the country with management to match.

They don't even have GA anymore. They got demoted to Aspire. SO yeah, anyone taking their kid from a top RL program to a club with Aspire is making questionable decisions.

TSJ and GFR don't have pathways. So you're quibbling over who has the better 2 tier option?

I am not quibbling over that at all b/c I know if my kid is good enough to play national level I can take them to a tryout/ID session and I don't need a "pathway" for that. I am pointing out that TSJ is a mess and GFR has a great girls program. I also think RL is superior to Aspire for girls so yeah, I guess if you want to argue 2nd tier.....we can do that.

GFR had a good, not great, girls program but it is being gutted by players and coaches moving on and will be a shell of itself in September.

We shall see. Plenty of good players and good coaches staying.

People said the same thing last spring and it turned out to be wishful thinking by a handful of haters.

Offers are out for GFR?

I think they plan to release the full slate later this week or early next week, but they sent this subset earlier for the younger girls because there were questions after a certain departure/TSJ hire was announced.

they sent one for u11 and under (many slots TBD) to parents and said full slate this week

There were only 2 TBD slots out of the 8 teams listed and both said they are pending contract agreements which means they probably have coaches and are just not able to announce them yet because they haven't communicated it if they're coming from other clubs.

Some upgraded coaching additions being made too! Super excited about DB and a few others I've heard are coming over!
