Very well said! I have a middle schooler who is very excited about the new school and the pool much closer to our house than Chantilly.

Also, a Chantilly Highlands resident. The only ones I've heard complain are the ones whose kids will be the first to go. Personally, I was thrilled to have a school close by.

I would be surprised if Oak Hill gets to stay at Chantilly given the overcrowding. Who would go to KAA in their place? And who would love out of Chantilly? In all four options Oak Hill goes there.

I know some families are happy to do so because they bus ride is really long and they are comfortable with the population that will be at the new school. The Floris, Oak Hill, Fox Mill kids are all high achieving type kids/families so you can expect a strong academic peer group. I don't know Coates or McNair so I can't speak to those schools.

Moving schools is not easy and moving from a top school to the unknown is disconcerting. I get that.

Well, the Oak HIll people were certainly not happy when the neighborhood was going to be split in Option 3. And, this is a good solution for them. And, if it weren't for KAA, they could still be up for grabs.

It was a tiny portion of Oak Hill - just one neighborhood.[b]
