High school leagues often don't use anything beyond record and head to head.

They do that so there isn't incentive for strong teams to obliterate weak ones seeking wider goal differential, etc.

Three WCAC games on 5/1 -- PVI vs GC, SJC vs BI, and TH vs BOC. Likely winners IMO are GC in a close on, SJC, and Heights.

If those results hold, then play-in games for WCAC would be SMR v BM (SMR win) and BI vs BOC (BI).

And if those results hold, then match-ups would be GC (1) vs BI (8), then depending on the drawing of lots -- tbd (2) vs SMR (7), tbd (3) vs TH (6), and tbd (4) vs DM (5).

At this point going fwd I would just go with the higher seeds/home teams as the favorites.

between Bullis, Landon, GP, GZ, GZ, SJC and PVI, not one of these teams is light years better than the other.

Based on current records, its safe to say PVI and Bullis are top dogs but their margins are very thin.

1. Bullis - Bulldogs SSDMs will keep them in every contest. Despite much depth and firepower, this team is extremely athletic between the lines and on the defensive side of the field.

2. PVI - the Panthers can score goals and are very athletic. Can they get it done in May when it matters most? Big one in Olney on Friday night!

3. GP - will the Hoyas carry the momentum into the IAC playoffs after their overtime thriller over rival Landon. GP looked like a complete team on Tuesday.

4. Landon - assuming the Bears take care of business tomorrow vs SSSA expect an all out grudge match against the Lil Hoyas next week.

5. Good Counsel - these Falcons can score goals and can control the tempo of a game with their fogo. The WCAC playoff one seed will be on the line tomorrow night when the Falcons and Panthers clash in Olney.

HM: in order

SJC - the Cadets have individual talent but don’t play well as a team.

GZ - I don’t think any opposing coach wants to play the Eagles in the WCAC playoffs, the Eagles scrap hard.

STA - the Bulldogs showed some grit on Tuesday evening and nearly knocked off rival Bullis. Game was tied with under 2 mins left in the 4th.

I certainly hope so.

But they struggled against the Bullis defense last week. Lots of shots were saved rather easily by the Bullis goalie because shooters were pressured by defenders.

Prep won almost every faceoff vs Landon but couldn’t manage a win in regulation.

This is going to be a three horse horse race.
