3d won the A division beating Hawks 9-4 (impressive), Bethesda 14-0 and Madlax Georgia for the championship.

Next Level won the AA division beating VLC 9-2, Madlax 2019 9-4, Baltimore Roughriders 7-3 and 3d Pacific Coast All Stars by a goal to win the championship.

MadLax Capital lost to the 3d Pacific team 6-9 but beat Madlax 2019 5-4.

Several of these clubs haven't played against each other and go to different tournaments for some reason. Not really shocked if 3D has much improved youth teams. Like Next Level they have some strong coaching in place. FCA and Loonies also have very good 2020 teams.

Easy for the DC area teams and the Hawks because they were at the Madlax tournament last weekend. Here is a shot (know nothing about where Bal teams fit in):

1. Crabs
2. Next Level
3. 3d Mid-Atlantic
4. Madlax Capital
5. Hawks
6. VLC
7. Bethesda
?. Club Blue
?. Cannons

Can you post any head to head scores? Surprised 3d is that high and VLC is that low.

A polite consensus? Good luck with that one when the crazy Madlax and VLC moms get back from yoga.

Any feedback on Southern States Elite Prospect Camp in December? Seems a bit late and cold in the year for such a thing. But W and L seems like a solid lacrosse school.

Not VLC. Madlax, I think. Is it a worthwhile recruitment venue?

It seems like each November weekend there are 3-4 different tournaments spraying teams around. The FLG is a big tournament, I'm sure there are others to split the pot. VLC's choices of tournaments is kind of odd. They don't go to the same ones as Crabs do like last weekend or other top teams. Maybe there is a reason for that, but it is strange.

Considering how much of recruiting is done in 8th grade or fall of 9th grade now, it is sad but you're likely right. The higher ground for the club coach is to control the process for really young kids and do it fast as possible. Takes the high school or prep school coaches and programs out of the equation, which of course is the goal. In the current state the parents and kids are hopelessly reliant on the club guys.

No, there is better talent in NoVA and more of it. A lot of it is the numbers - many more people in Loudoun, Alexandria and Fairfax counties. Even Prince William is getting better.

Yeah, I hear ya. But the money and smarts still skew to Moco, so that should make up for a lot. The truth is that the Moco families still think they can navigate the recruitment process without a club team behind them. Dumb asses.

Yeah, weird how Moco teams have not been able to take off like a VLC or Blackwolf or Madlax. Moco has monied families, lots of former laxers a lot of private school kids and Churchill and other publics that are decent in lax.

Those clubs draw mostly from VA, which is a huge advantage. There are many more lacrosse kids in Fairfax, Alexandria and Loudoun counties than in Montgomery and more top talent as well. Plus there are several clubs that target MoCo kids so the talent gets split apart. As for public school lax, Montgomery County is terrible. Far inferior to the VA public schools and even the best team like Churchill would have been worked by the top public school teams in VA.
