WES parent here. Of course more WES graduates go to every public school combined than go to St. Albans each year. What a silly comparison. The same is true for every middle school.

I don't know a single graduate who went to public school involuntarily this year. The only kids who went public school had been planning to do so for years (including mine).

You'd think wEs would send more, yes? Apparently they feed more to publics than St. Albans. Wtf??

I dont know about that. St Pats has occasionally placed large numbers of boys (ex: 10-11 total in 2012) into several grades (4th, 7th and 9th) at STA in past years. But more generally anywhere from 2-5 total go per year. That more typical number hasnt changed in the past couple of years. I think the years when they placed an unusually large number it was a reflection of the strength of the applicants more than anything else. No school, other than Beauvoir, can expect to do that on a regular basis. Still there are schools, such as St Pats, NPS, Sheridan, and Little Langley, that typically send boys to STA every year whether they start in 4th, 6th, 7th or 9th.

Lowell has a few kids starting up at STA this fall. I was surprised.

NPS sending large amount to Landon. Former Head, Neill is Head of Landon...which may trump Lester...

I know NPS regularly lands kids at St. Albans (and NCS). Especially with HOS Lester who has deep Cathedral roots, this should continue if not expand.

Key school has two as well. I would hardly say St. Pat's is a feeder with 2 out of 45 boys admitted. Beauvoir is only true feeder school with normally between 25-35 admitted to C form per year.

I think this is true for several of the schools. And likewise I know that it is harder to get into Potomac if you live in VA. Generally VA is underrepresented in the city and MD schools.

I hope this is true. We are an old town Alexandria family applying this year.

This might have been slightly more convincing if you had spelled "Beauvoir" correctly. The post is dumb and not funny ("mic drop" feels like a 2008 term itself).

How many entering 4th graders are from Beauvoir this year? Are there any other schools that have a strong feed to St Albans for this year? Are publics well represented?
