The theme of the movie is that everything bad in education somehow is caused by the Common Core standards, and therefore getting rid of the Common Core standards will make everything better.
No, that's not the theme. The theme is that things are not great (and that definitely was not caused by CC), but that CC is not going to make anything better.

But now you have to back up. Why are you so certain that the Common Core materials will not work for the students you are talking about? And why do you think that the administrators might spend money on other materials that would work?
There will always be the next new big thing. That's how it seems to work, in education. So why are you going to so much trouble to fight the Common Core standards?

I think it means we should fight Common Core because if we have CC, the administrators will be pressured to buy only CC materials for us. If we don't have CC, we have a fighting chance of having enough money to get other materials that work for our students.
