First is cost. How many people using the boy's bathroom will even need access to these products? Why not have them available at the nurse's office in case someone needs it? The second issue is boys will be boys and will most likely mess with the products. I read about one middle school where they ripped the dispenser off the wall in less than an hour of being placed in the boy's bathroom.
These concerns seem so minor compared to the reactions from the right-wing. Are you really this pissed off that boys might act like idiots in the bathrooms? If that’s what you’re worried about, why not address behavior issues in boys instead of blowing up a thread on a VP pick?
Anyone invoking a “boys will be boys” argument has already lost.

One middle school, huh? That’s some serious data. What about trans boys this policy quietly helped? And how is it a waste? The products keep for a long time. If they’re not being constantly replenished, then it’s a minimal expense right? I also guarantee you some boys take some home for moms struggling to afford the expense.

Not to mention destigmatizing female bodily functions. I want my son to understand and support girls and trans boys who menstruate, and also understand the use of sexist slurs related to feminine hygiene products has no place in an enlightened society.

There are a lot of things to like about Tim Walz but his kindness and empathy are at the top for me. As an educator, he knows the obstacles a hungry belly and issues of social difference pose to learning and achievement. He will do whatever he can to address children’s needs and help them. Sorry the right hates the existence of trans kids but he understands trans boys need period products and supplying them hurts exactly no one. He is a good man. Wish some on the right would listen and learn from him.

Exactly. We support FREEDOM of religion for everybody. You don’t. That’s the difference. Come back once you can accept that there are dozens of different religions practiced in this country, no one superior to the other, and that everyone deserves to practice in peace but not impose their own religious beliefs on others.

Not crazy at all! Most gen x men my age don't know enough about how women's bodies work. Their fathers are even more clueless. That kind of blindness leads to men choosing abortion term limits that don't even make sense because they don't understand how a PERIOD works! You can't have it both ways: not understanding a period yet trying to dictate my reproductive health.
