First, most of the best players of 2019 were already committed well before the new rule kicked in. Second, those that weren't, are good enough to play DI, have been contacted by the programs that want them.

Next year there will be more kids recruited on Sept 1 as the top 2020 players may not have all received offers before the rule went into effect.

By 2021 it will be as predicted on Sept 1, a flurry of calls and e-mails. Few 2021s had been recruited as they were just graduating 8th when the rule went into effect.


How about the Ivies since they tended to recruit later? Have they been reaching out or pretty quiet?

So does an avalanche of contact occur on Sept 1, and can on assume if not contacted by a specific school then, specific school isn't focused on your kid?

The clubs need their players to play for their high school teams, and vice versa. Club players are almost always the starters, if not the impact players on their high school teams. This raises the profile of the club. The high schools in return get great players who, especially for non-IAC non-WCAC teams, help grow the game. Good lacrosse begets good lacrosse. It's a win-win.

For now, thankfully that only happens in soccer. Playing for the high school team is encouraged for lacrosse.


Not just soccer. Often you see that in swimming, hockey and some other sports.

Having Bullis or Landon behind you helps you get taken seriously as a recruit, for sure. But every single player on those teams , or every other IAC team (Prep, saint albans, sssas, ehs) for that matter, recruited to play at d1 or d3, is on a club team, almost always Madlax, Crabs, VLC or bw.

That's not accurate. Only 2-3 of them publish their rosters. I guess the lesser clubs are worried about poaching. If they cared about the players, they would list the roster. That's what happens in other sports like hockey, basketball, etc. Publicity can only help the family.
