Iran is going to keep going after the gulf states. They are already running out of interceptors and the US is refusing to give them more. Those countries have significant pull with Trump and destroying their oil and gas infrastructure will cause worldwide economic damage.

Wonder how this will change the calculus of these countries in the future. It's clear that these countries can't rely on the US for protection. They thought hosting US forces would help protect them. Instead it's made them sitting ducks.

Trump signed an executive order just a few months ago, which states "it is the policy of the United States to guarantee the security and territorial integrity of the State of Qatar against external attack."

Now the US is saying well, too bad.

Well, if we are going to engage in proxies, my friends in Ch Ch are not saying the same. Some may have mentioned that they view Iran as a threat to Israel, but not one supports the war or invokes the Holocaust.

Also, what could Schumer do to stop it? Curious that you chose him as opposed to Thune and Johnson, who are the majority heads of their respective chambers.
