Many people (locally and around the world) view Prep as an academically strong school with a long established history dating back to 1789 (235 years ago) when it was founded with Georgetown University. It has a long list of impressive and accomplished alumni. Prep is the strongest of the Catholics (besides St. Anselm's, which is a small and slightly odd school in its own world, so most don't consider it). Prep has definitely mastered the balance of strong academics and strong athletics/extracurriculars. STA may have balanced this in the 80s/90s, but no longer.
