What kind of idiot buys a house with a bunch of trees and then cuts them all down? Cutting a tree is far more costly than raking leaves twice a year.

You have a problem with executive functioning.

Its not more costly. We pay $1500 twice in the fall for a leaf clean up and around $1200 to $1500 in the spring every year for the past 18 years. It cost us $8800 to have all the trees removed. After two years we are saving over $4000 a year in leaf clean ups.

You do not a have a problem with executive functioning.

Probably a person that has lived in the home 50 years and tired of raking leaves. It maybe nice when they were young and healthy. Now they are in their 80's and can't do the maintenance.

We have cut down six trees that were within five to ten feet of the house. Leaves get in the gutter that constantly had to be cleaned out. Branches fall on the roof. We always had to hire someone to remove the twigs and branches from the roof and sundecks. Why would someone plant trees soo close to their house.
I notice when homes go on sale, some realtors have trees removed thinking new buyers don't want the maintenances. If they see a lot of trees, they won't buy.

They regularly come up with new legislation, needed or not, to keep their name in the news and keep themselves relevant for the next office they seek.

I noticed the lawn people cutting next door didn't blow off the clippings in the driveway or the street. I asked them why and they said the battery is dead on the blower.

Montgomery County has a class for landscapers to transition from gas powered equipment to battery powered equipment. This means mowers, chain saws and weed trimmers. They want all lawn equipment battery powered. I guess the next thing is their trucks has to be battery powered.
No tree company is doing away with their chain saws or chippers.

Reporting a complaint to the county the person has to be willing to go to court to testify. That will be interesting. There maybe repercussions afterwards.

I had to go to the airport early in the morning and asked a neighbor if he had any gas in his garage. He had three five gallon cans stored in there with two cars. He let me have ten gallons.

I will assume his garage is now a Superfund site.
