I did hear that they DID have tryouts and not much of a showing.


They started a few age groups but the storms forced to cancel. Not many non VLC players there.

What top tournaments does NL play in? Does DCE have a 2029 team?

NL, ML, VLC,DCE are the only ones that go regularly to the top tournaments. All the other local clubs don’t have the same credibility. Not sure why jumping to a lower tier club gets you a better experience.

Anyone know how many of the 2029 VLC Elite ("A team") players are leaving the club? Based on the coaches they named, looks like VLC only plans to field 1 2029 team for this coming year. Heard some going to True Chesapeake but what about the rest? True NoVa, NL, ML?

I believe the HC of the top team was either canned or asked to leave. Nothing really salacious just rumors that he was being more accommodative to his son's lax endeavors than the team in general (no idea if that is accurate just what I heard). Thus, many of the kids on the top team are leaving for other teams. Rumors have been floating around for the 6-9 months that most of those kids were looking either at an entire team level move or individually.


Notice that all of these kids leaving are AFTER the CAVS purchase and change in management...


The issues with this coach have been going on for multiple years. A lot of the kids were from his rec team and were a friendly group. The attempt to move last fall was to get a new coach without telling him they wanted a new coach.

Ugh, sure you’re in good hands. Dico was part of the problem in how the 27 team fell apart and now all the other teams are collapsing. He couldn’t save vlc pre-merger with cavs and hasn’t been helpful in helping the post merger vlc from imploding.

Go the the VLC website 50% public 50% private 6 total commits. One of the privates from BI so probably not there for the lax program.
