And yet there was and perhaps still is a plan to expand Centreville to 3000.

If you think it’s the natural order of things to leave CVHS with 1943 or fewer seats you have to ask why we bothered to expand Oakton so much, or why it would be a problem for Westfield to have 2150 kids but OK for Centreville to have hundreds fewer.

People here are so blatantly transparent in advocating for changes that benefit their schools to the detriment of others.

I think an objective SB would have moved Crossfield to Skyview, but I agree, this has nothing to do with backfilling Westfield. It has created a problem for Meren, but she should have taken action on that a year ago.
I would feel sorry for South Lakes except they are unwilling to smell the coffee and get rid of IB.

I have no kids in school currently, but I have followed boundary issues for a long time. My neighborhood as gone through all the western Fairfax boundary issues for decades.

I do not recall ANY study being done in this manner.
I think there were initial large meetings for the community that explained what the process would be before the study began.
Then, the meetings held with SB members were more on an individual school basis. I do know our neighborhood had meetings with SB members and that "opposing" neighborhoods also had meetings to explain their views.
I don't ever recall demeaning another school based on property values and elitism.
The SB members NEVER made a promise to us. (In one of these studies, our SB member supported a different neighborhood to stay put over ours. However, we had a strong argument based on objective reasons for our school to stay over the other neighborhood. )

I have always been a proponent for proximity/community over status.

It is the SB member's job to look out for all their constituents. It is clear that Dixit does not understand that.

If I look at the existing Westfield boundary and the new Westfield boundary, it looks like it has been split into half where the upper half goes to Skyview and lower half goes to Westfield. So what is the outcry about? Or am I missing something?

They need to revisit any expansion of Centreville given the seats added at Skyview and soon to be available at Herndon, South Lakes, and Westfield.

Given Seema Dixit and the SB's and FCPS's completely disinterest in any equity and academic issues raised regarding Westfield's numbers, Westfield parents should be very concerned that the loudest criers in the room will get their way and the Walney area and Cub Run people will be moved back to Chantilly, leaving them only with new students from Chantilly Mews and the Bull Run apartment island.
