She's in a bind. If she settles in too strongly on the narrative that he sucks and he did her dirty, she basically forecloses the possibility of really looking inward at herself and truly reflecting on her piece and what it is within her that contributed to this fourth divorce. Then she won't really change.

If she looks at herself, she's going to go through a fire of deep pain. That would require facing some hard realities about who she is, has been and what she truly wants for herself. And why she has been unable to attain a stable, long term marriage. It's hard. She won't ever get closer to what she wants without doing a deep, painful dive. For many narcs it is only the losses of midlife, the realities of aging and continued pain that propels a few to finally get real and face themselves. Obviously she is a person with a lot of unprocessed conflict and inner torment.

Sounds harsh but there's nothing to defend. They know how she is and while I think she kind of tries, she's not very present in their lives.

Everyone has their failures and triumphs but sadly when you use life events to earn cash, it becomes public discussion. Though no loss as from romance, engagement, wedding, marriage and breakup, all kept them in news.

I wonder if that’s what pushed this current divorce and why Ben is running. Ben has always put his foot down that he doesn’t want any more kids. Frankly, I don’t think he even wanted the ones he has. His family line is plagued with substance abuse and depression and I don’t think he even wanted to marry Garner but girlfriend was able to make sure she got off birth control to trap him fast and hence they had their shotgun wedding .
