He's coming to our club - BRYC. I think he's just 11, a little kid. But he has done so well that they are putting him with the U13 ECNL group. The top U12 team for BRYC usually plays U13 so mixture of U12, U13 for next year. BRYC is putting together some great teams.

Congrats to him. I am sure BRYC will reap benefits from the SYC McLean misfire as well.

PAC practices at Luther Jackson Middle School and falls Church high School and will take most players coming in who are interested at younger ages.

Black is the second team for VYS -- I think most age groups have teams below that (White and/or Silver), so hopefully these players weren't "dropped" from Vienna teams altogether, just moved down a level. Perhaps disappointing, nonetheless, but really this is often a chance for players to improve on a more level playing field with other kids of similar skill, and I've definitely seen players at VYS move up to higher teams, too.

I think that movement up/down across teams is going to be required in order for VYS to remain competitive. Put differently, think about the players on Silver or White whose improvement shows that they are ready to move up to Black ... wouldn't it be unfair to deny them that opportunity out of "loyalty" to keeping the rosters unchanged? I think there are no bad intentions in the process, but of course, it's an art as much as a science to sort kids into the proper team level across 3 or 4 teams.

The better players leave by U13 for better competition anyways so no loyalty there either.

If GFR doesn’t work out would look at PAC. After a year or two of PAC your son will be able to play for any of these clubs.
