Your two tween girls are very stylish in an off-beat, bohemian way. Even though they attend a so-called "big 3" private school, you are secretly glad that they seem to at least dress to the beat of their own drums. You chose the name Layla not because of the Eric Clapton song, but because you spent a semester in Egypt during the fall semester of your junior year at Swarthmore. You decided that you really like names that end with "a," so you ended up with Sabrina, which sounds vague Central/Eastern European-ish, and you get annoyed when people ask if you named her after "Bewitched." You and DH met working at the World Bank (alas, they don't offer tuition benefits anymore) and live in the Palisades. Layla is bookish and musically inclined, while Sabrina likes to be the center of attention, is a class clown, and likes playing basketball. Even though they get into the usual sister arguments, they love each other dearly and consider the other her best friend.
