As a 4th or 5th generation DC native who has happily lived and worked in Baltimore for 15 years, I love both cities. Baltimore's inferiority complex toward Washington always makes me laugh, as if this scruffy town should somehow be the equal of a global capital. Instead, folks here should just appreciate what we have and realize that in some ways we can never be equivalent to DC (for better and worse).
I feel the same way about DC lacrosse comparing itself to Baltimore when I read this thread.
