From this document- see #39:
39. If an individual travels to any place other than Maryland or Virginia and receives a
negative COVID-19 test upon their return to the District, can they return to school?
[UPDATED]
Per DC Health’s Guidance for Travel, unvaccinated or partially vaccinated individuals who have traveled
domestically to any place other than Maryland or Virginia must either (1) not attend school for 10 days
after returning, or (2) not attend school until tested for COVID-19 three to five days after returning AND
receive a negative COVID-19 viral test.
Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated individuals who have traveled internationally must either (1) not
attend school for 10 days after returning, or (2) not attend school for seven days after returning, get
tested for COVID-19 three to five days after returning, AND receive a negative COVID-19 viral test. Even
if the test is negative, the individual must still not attend school for seven days.

And you'll lie about it? Awesome. I don't know how you sleep at night. A vaccine for kids is a few months away. What is wrong with waiting? I truly do not understand the ignorance here.
Yes, I'll lie about our family's travel because it's nobody's business what we do when our kids aren't in school.
Deal with it.
You’re a selfish a-hole. You don’t need to keep repeating it. We get it.
And my kids will be sitting next to your kids. Breathing on them, and spreading their Florida Delta covid germs.
Enjoy the rest of your summer. 🤣
Wow. I’m think this travel rule is asinine, and that we need to come down from the Covid hysteria now that we have vaccines, that people should enjoy their lives and make sure their kids enjoy their lives, and that kids should have been in school last year and certainly from here on out… But you really sound like a psychopath.

can someone please clarify if the rule is to quarantine for 7 days or 3 days upon return with a COVID negative test for unvaccinated kids?

It’s test three days upon return. But just go - who cares? No public safety difference being at the beach or mountains there than the beach or mountains in VA. You are just feeding the beast!
It is both 3 and 7 days. OSSE says 3. DC health says 7 even with test. OSSE's guidelines also link to the DC Health guidelines.
But also just go.
