Some people DID take the risks and the hardship of getting vaccinated.
They are the people who suppressed our covid numbers allowing all of us to get back to normal.
And then there were those who are too chicken to get their shots.
So, yes! Some people did the "hard lift" of getting vaccinated, while others just sat around and spread lies. The ones who didn't get vaccinated, you know -- those who weren't willing to put up with fever, chills, headache, sore arm --- those are the free riders who are too chicken to roll up their sleeves and take the liquid gold that we are so fortunate to have.
Come fall.... those who are too chicken to do the hard lift are going to be at substantial risk. They can ride free for awhile... but probably not forever.

Getting injected with an experimental therapy under "emergency authorization", not even actual approval was not hard, considering they are everywhere and being pushed by government officials, instagram models. barbershops paid by the government and late night talk show hosts. It was the "go along" thing to do.
You may be convinced that it was wise, but that's a separate question.
I'm left to assume that you are a free-rider who is too chicken to get vaccinated. Got it.

Again, mask your kids up if you choose to but the math and science do not support requiring it.
True -- at least for now. The "free riders" are able to ride risk-free right now because the rest of us did the hard lift of getting vaccinated. We put up with the headaches, chills, fevers for a day or two to get us to this point. Fairfax County adults and teens have done a very, very good job (I won't say "great" just yet) in getting vaccinated. And we have the rewards of that: exceptionally LOW covid rates! Yay.
But, when people are in closer spaces, the unvaccinated free-riders will be at risk b/c the virus will still circulate. So, enjoy the ride while you can, free-riders.... eventually the merry-go-round is going to stop.
the "hard lift"?
You act like driving over to an office/clinic, waiting in line and getting someone to inject you with an experimental therapy was like manning the barricades under enemy assault.

It's not that getting the shot is "hard" -- it's that we opened ourselves up to being sick for 24-48 hours. It does take at least some courage to put yourself in the position of chills, fever, etc. for 1-2 days.... can't say that the anti-vaxers were willing to take on that burden. Those who got vaccinated DID take on a burden that the anti-vaxxers get to ride-free upon.

That number doesn't include the many of us who got our doses as part of the federal government supply (DOD and others). Those are reported only at the state level and not the county level. There's a lot.

Fairfax county just announced that they are at a 70% vaccination rate.
What you are arguing is not supported by facts. It is an emotional argument, not a factual argument.

Get your kids vaccinated if you don’t want them to wear masks.
The recent articles about impact of covid months after even a mild infection should tell you to stop comparing it to the flu.
