Last time VDA 04 played FCV 04 was in the Spring of 2017. I believe VDA either won or tied. The majority of the girls where in the 7th or 8th grade. You sound ridicualous arguing the prowess of pre-pubency players.

Fall 2019:
FCV 04 vs Richmond: Richmond wins (or tied)

Friendly - January 2020
FCV 04 DA vs Maryland United ECNL: Won 1-0 (penalty)

I forgive you, your attention span is apparently pretty short. The point was to refute the PP who was crowing about how crappy VDA was in GDA and magically rose to 5th in ECNL MA as some testament to how much superior local DA teams are. You proved my point though, it sounds like they finished higher in DA than they did in the supposedly crappy ECNL MA.

Ummm, no, they finished higher in ECNL than they did in DA. The original point stands.

Some mis-truths here. ECNL rosters are generally around 20 or less, except for the U18-19 age groups which drift higher for various reasons.
VDA joined for the 2018-19 season. Although I don't have the standings (why don't they make these avbl) I think they did worse on average their first year. It sounds like you are talking about a particular age group though, not sure which one. Kinda hard to generalize about a clubs performance across years. Lots of things change year to year so your generalization of strength based on the 19-20 season is pretty squishy.

What age vda? It’s an entire club not just the team your DD plays.

ECNL R isn’t “Elite”. It doesn’t offer a showcasing platform. It is just a travel league no different than CCL, NCSL or EDP.

If ECNL wanted to be elite, they should have picked up FCV and Arlington while relegating two of four local ECNL clubs who are consistently at the bottom of the table to ECNL-R. I’m not sure what ECNL wants to be anymore, they are just another league. They have been focused so much on fighting us soccer and the DA, that they’ve lost their way. As for GA, they are saying it’s the DA structure with high school play and increased subs. Prior to us soccer folding the DA, a player usually chose a team based upon HS play, location and competitiveness. Now, the HS decision is moot and the primary criteri are location and competitiveness. That’s an easier choice to make in the area.

Honest question here regarding HS....how is it being handled in the GAL if there are different HS seasons for MD and VA clubs?

Clubs have more direct control of game scheduling. We’ll see how it plays out, but I assume you play your in state competition mostly when HS is not playing and you spread your interstate competition throughout the year.

The same as ECNL used to manage it, case by case. For some kids it makes sense and others it doesn’t. ECNL you are almost forced to play HS.

Personally, I don’t understand why anyone would spend $7000 a year to give up the team training in favor of HS before national showcases.
