Yeah, don't really care about it, but Ben and Jen's marriage was a shotgun wedding and they got together when both of them were with other people.
not just "with" - he was engaged to Jlo
No, I checked the timeline. She split from her husband at least a year before they began dating. He split with Jlo in January, appeared with JGarn for the first time in October. It seems like she was infatuated with him when they worked on movies before then (her husband was supposed be a jerk and cheater) but Ben was definitely into Jlo until the split. Doesn’t seem that anything fishy went down.
Jen was previously married to Scott Foley, aka Noel on Felicity, aka played the nicest guy ever. Is he really supposed to be a jerk/cheater in real life? He’s been remarried for a long time and has three kids.
I think she was with her co-star Michael Vartan when she hooked up with Ben.

Okay, I’m officially jealous of jens romantic history. Scott foley, Michael vartan AND ben affleck. She’s got good taste.
Ted Casablanca used to run a gossip column for E. He had several blinds indicating Foley couldn't handle Jen G's fame, was rude to her and cheated on her. So a) could be made up b) maybe not, since he married someone not famous who takes care of house/kids while he works. c) somewhere in the middle, maybe he's matured since then.
I also remembered she dated Michael Vartan, who had crushed on her for a long time, between her split and Affleck. Once Affleck became available, seems she dumped Vartan to make herself available to him.

It was exhilarating and made you feel more alive than you had ever been before. But then when you lost his attention/affection ... that was the other side of the coin and terrible feeling.
I mean, good luck to them, but I would not be saying stuff like "he never acted that way with Jenn." Ben has got some problems and I would not romanticize this dude, any relationship with him is a huge risk and do not expect stability. He is an addict and a gambler to boot, so I don't understand why women here are romanticizing him.
Here's the quote I was talking about, from the post-break-up Vanity Fair article:
"He’s the most brilliant person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous. He’s just a complicated guy. I always say, ‘When his sun shines on you, you feel it.’ But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it’s cold. He can cast quite a shadow.”
I remember this statement. I thought it was the absolute most revealing thing either of them said about the other and the most truthful. It was kind of devastating too.
Classic Narcissist. His addictions go hand and hand with it.
Yep.
Love bomb, devalue, discard.
And the next girl thinks she’s different and special. And so on and so on.
Gwenyth and J-Lo both ditched him because of his gambling addiction and boozing...and cheating. He screwed his kids’ nanny for godsake. Who in their right mind wants a guy like that?

Nasty.
I remember Jennifer’s quote about that tattoo he got in Vanity Fair after the divorce.
googled for everyone:
“You know what we would say in my hometown about that? ‘Bless his heart.’ A phoenix rising from the ashes,” she said. Am I the ashes in this scenario? I take umbrage. I refuse to be the ashes.”
