BTW, "Breaking News: Maryland's statewide positivity rate for COVID-19 has fallen to under 4% for the first time. Montgomery County’s rate is at a record low of 2.5%." Virginian's must do better!

I was very happy with him, but honestly the rising COVID numbers in parts of the state are driving up our state-wide averages (hello NY quarantine) and I can’t believe he has asserted zero leadership in trying to work with teachers and health experts in getting our schools to open.

Virginia Covid Numbers are up! Time to be more objective! We're now on the NY quarantine list. I haven't seen my daughter in NYC in months! I'm not liking this!

I have seen a number of posts like this that tie bars, restaurants etc to school closings. Come on, let's be real. Northam could close every bar and restaurant in Virginia and Arlington Public Schools would still do 100% DL. We all know that.

Northam has already put restrictions on bars. He will do more if he thinks it will help. But the difference between say restaurants and schools is the same as the difference between child care and schools. One is a business, the other is a governmental institution and the dynamics and incentives are different. Clamping down on one is not likely to make a difference in what happens with the other.

He’s a great example of why term limits work. He made the unpopular calls. And in NOVA where we are (mostly) complying with guidance, we are in good shape. And lucky. For a major metro area, we don’t have that many college kids coming back. Just Mason, which isn’t as large or bad as it could be.

That's a good point regarding term limits. I think he's done a good job on COVID stuff.
