I knew people were posting in the travel forum happy that other people’s vacation plans were being canceled.
There was a distinct gleeful “haha” tone to a lot of those posts about borders closing and flights being canceled.
That’s a really shitty attitude to take btw. You should be embarrassed to admit that.

I also love there’s no societal expectation to socialize anymore.
No friends demanding I meet them for coffee just so they can complain an hour about their husband.
No one begging me to pick up or watch their kids — JUST TODAY.
No relatives trying to one up me on vacations - we’re heading to Sydney for a week, where are you and Steve going?
It’s just so so nice and peaceful.
I agree, I'm happy about the bolded. Although for me, it's friends bragging. We're headed to Europe for Spring Break, where are you going? Before I felt guilty about not being able to go somewhere. Now we're all in the same boat.

Yeah this is why I let the nanny go and sent kids to preschool. A bit of confusion about whose house it was on the part of the nanny. Just didn’t work for me.

TBH if this illness disproportionately affected young people and businesses offered early hours for people aged 18-25 to shop old people would have lost their damned minds and gotten up in arms about "ageism."

If I stay away from the news, I am doing quite well. As a friend said, I’ve been training for this. I don’t socialize a lot and tend to work a lot. I was a bit worried about not getting my socializing in at work, but I have been face timing a coworker everyday. It is a bit of social interaction for me and he is huge extrovert so it works.
I live alone so I was a touch worried in the beginning, but I think it will be okay. I got my dog. I am saving tons of money. As long as my parents stay healthy — everything will be okay for me personally.

I am too. I made the determination that I am not on the cusp as much as I proclaim to be. I am a closeted extrovert who claims to be part introvert because introverts seem to be more woke, lol.
