The news reports with “from international travel” are ridiculous. When you’re only testing people that meet the international travel to specific countries criteria, then of course the presumed positives are “from international travel”.

The Georgetown one is an exception and that was only tested because of the connection with that case.

When will VA declare the state of emergency?

I hope it's true, because it'd mean a whole lot more people are positive and it also means the lack of a rush to the hospitals so far is very, very encouraging.

No you aren't. It is not conceivable that we've only gone up by 1 since yesterday. If Virginia's only had capacity to test 200-300 people a day they haven't been testing nearly enough. There are more out there. I'm not relying on # of confirmed cases

Per day? It sounds like the state of Virginia only has 300-400 test kits total right now.

You could be right about that. During the press conference I interpreted it as a daily capacity number, but not so sure now. And I obviously couldn't remember if it was 200-300 or 300-400

That's really great, actually. That should help.

I mean, one they created more testing centers in NYC, the mayor said confirmed cases ballooned in a matter of hours. It's so hard to square that with the numbers we are getting here.

And it's a teenager.

Traveled out of the country. How many times do travelers need to hear this?

Article says it isn't a public school student, and the private schools in Richmond have spring break this week, so my guess this is a college student. It very well could be a college student who was on study abroad in Italy that was sent home. You don't know but most teens aren't internationally traveling on their own dime.
