Me too. Sidwell isn’t really Quaker anymore.

Can’t help yourself, can you? Poor impulse control

One could say the same about you.

And at 45k, Sidwell ain’t Quaker.

You said the same thing 8 pages ago, and the other Quaker schools on the east coast charge the same or more.

It's likely one person who's kid was rejected 10 years ago.

The problem is their inner God shines brighter in the wealthier candidates, so that's not very Quaker.

LOL!

Go visit the school. If you are Quaker and visit, you will spot quickly why Sidwell isn't really Quaker.

The Quakers at the school disagree.

How many Quaker students are there at Sidwell? Are any of the staff Quaker?

I don't know what percentage of the school is Quaker, but there are def. Quaker students in the school. There are Quaker staff, including the Head of School and a percentage (majority?) of the Board of Trustees.

I wonder whether the school would be a good resource to ask?

Read the previous post. A Quaker school exists to educate Quaker children. That's not Sidwell.

Sidwell under the leadership of the current head exists to educate wealthy or well-connected liberals with a few token normal people thrown in. Quakerism is about simplicity, humility, seeing God in everyone.

Sidwell has wandered far from its original mission.

Because there are so many Quakers still around.

Exactly. Most folks don’t even realize there was a Quaker religion.

Are you Quaker? If not, who are you to sit in judgement of how the donor don’t deliver or meet the Quaker doctrine.

Then Sidwell should drop the pretension. But then they would lose their tax status. Hmmm...

First, they are not going to "drop" being a Quaker school. And even if they did, they could still be a non-profit, or is GDS not tax-exempt?

Why keep pretending though?
