Nobody is saying that ICE needs to do raids. However, MoCo can cooperate with ICE. Law enforcement agencies do cooperate with one another in order to be more effective.

Publicizing an order saying that MoCo officials will NOT cooperate with ICE sends a strong message to illegal immigrants that MoCo is a Sanctuary County and that you can get away with breaking the law.

People from Latin America make up about 80% of illegal immigrants. Why wouldn't the focus be on them? Who says other groups arent targeted? Weren't the massage parlor busts in FL and MD targeting Asian massage parlors? Stop with the false statements.

Not all illegals are criminals and it wouldn't be singularly criminals or future criminals affected it would be people who have lived in the United States since childhood, it would be people who have committed no crimes, it would separate families.

These people have separated their own families through their actions. They left their kids, spouses, parents, grandparents, etc in their home countries and chose to immigrate illegally or overstay a Visa. It was their choice to come without permission and there is no obligation to ensure they keep whatever family they have here together. That is their responsibility. If that means they have to get the children a passport to go back to their home country so they can stay together, that is their responsibility.

It’s our moral obligation. Morals aren’t dictated by convenience. You either have them or you don’t. Right now, we don’t.

Please explain how this is our moral obligation?

To treat them humanely through the process of immigration adjudication. We aren’t.

Well nobody’s stopping the federal government from doing it’s job. ICE can still round up Hispanics to their hearts content but Montgomery County isn’t going to assist in the collection.
