Did Bullis re-instate it’s football coach, Cliento?

I read in the Post this morning, the domestic assault charges were dismissed.

There's more than a little truth in that.

My wife, who was initially opposed to our sons playing football, eventually allowed it because of their insistence and enthusiasm.

At games, I would escape from the crowd of football moms and position myself at the top row the stands using the excuse that I could see the game better.

Guidestar is a good source for non profit 990 filings (and handy for checking out any charitable organization before you make a donation). I think it’s wise for anyone considering a private school to have a look. Catch is that religiously affiliated organizations are generally exempt.

You are kidding yourself. Out of the earshot of teachers, the behavior of some Bullis students I've observed is quite similar to that of the frequent posting lax bro alumni who says "Kid probably couldn't make the team" above.

Yeah but the PP definitely cares about what is said on this forum. Bullis parents are extremely insecure about people saying they have no academic standards, that they accept anybody, what's said about certain people working there and people pointing out that they take athletes for free while their teachers are forced to take pay cuts. .

Bullis parents like me are bothered by the disconnect between the narrative perpetuated on this board and their experience with dedicated teachers, rigorous academics, a strong community, and excellent resources. We're responding to loud uninformed bias with our experience-based thoughts. What's wrong with that?

Not being able to cover payroll isn't generally considered a sign of financial strength, but I have no idea what the school's actual financial situation is. I do know that my kid suffered from a year of pretty disgruntled teachers.

Bullis has plenty of money. The issue with the teacher pay was Head vs. Board budget negotiation. The brinksmanship spilled over and affected the staff in a move most now recognize as a mistake. But at its heart, the question was whether to insist on a $400,000 additional rainy day fund dollars at the expense of other priorities the Head supported. At the end of the day the Board and the Head reached an agreement that created the fund, didn't cost teachers, and preserved programmatic priorities. The Head is willing to push for what he believes in and that has enabled Bullis to change and innovate and grow dramatically over the past decade in terms of teaching and learning as well as athletics, facilities, and an incredible arts program.
