I cannot believe he went there right now when he is so beleaguered by problems of his own making already.

Umm ... you never complete the hormones. It's lifetime maintenance.
So, there isn't one member if the armed forces who currently take a pill or pills for something on a daily basis? No generals taking Lipitor?
Whee does the military stand, say, if a man who survived testicular cancer wants to join? Or a woman who developed breast cancer at 22 and list both breasts?
Whoa -- I was actually pointing that out in favor of the trans troops. My point is that this idea that you could have a pure post-op DADT policy is impossible. Trans troops will be "out," at least to their doctors, unless they choose to serve as the gender assigned at birth and never act as their true gender.

Plenty in the military take daily meds, yes. PP is uninformed.

She doesn't know what will happen to current transgender members of the military and has said the White House and DoD will now figure how to implement the ban (of course this should have been done first). She even threatened to stop the briefing if anymore questions about the transgender ban were asked.
The clown show is in full swing.

Most people, including gay people, do not lump transgender in with gay issues.

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/07/26/trump-transgender-military-ban-behind-the-scenes-240990
House Republicans were planning to pass a spending bill stacked with his campaign promises, including money to build his border wall with Mexico.
But an internal House Republican fight over transgender troops was threatening to blow up the bill. And House GOP insiders feared they might not have the votes to pass the legislation because defense hawks wanted a ban on Pentagon-funded sex reassignment operations — something GOP leaders wouldn’t give them.
They turned to Trump, who didn’t hesitate. In the flash of a tweet, he announced that transgender troops would be banned altogether.
Trump’s sudden decision was, in part, a last-ditch attempt to save a House proposal full of his campaign promises that was on the verge of defeat, numerous congressional and White House sources said.
Everybody arguing that the ban is being implemented for enhancing the military's combat effectiveness can shut up now.
It's all for the wall.

Mom of three military kids here. All three support the rights of LGBTQ service members. A person with asthma probably has no business being in the military. Breathing is important. Being able to pass a PT test is required. I can't imagine how a penis or lack of a penis would affect physical conditioning or combat readiness. Your active duty son should understand that.
