I think the poster's objection was to the belief that white neighbors would "improve" things.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Hey white people- we don't really want you living in our midst and "improving" things for us.
Signed,
Black People
I am pretty sure not all black people support segregation.
I have black neighbor across the hallway from me in a hi rise in Alexandria. Apparently they do not have a problem living next to white people.

Sure some should do more for those close to them, but isn't that true of all kinds of people? Seems like someone is trying to silence views they don't agree with.
And didn't OP say they live in a city neighborhood, presumably one that does have crime? Why does anyone think people who put up these signs have no experience with crime? And why think they don't care about cops? You can care about cops and still not excuse everything cops do.

Either way yard signs imo is tacky. We get along with all our neighbors but leave politics out of it. OP that would be your best avenue. I give to 3 animals charities but don't feel the need to put signs up about it.
Their point was that black lives are often treated as not mattering. They have been very effective in getting attention focused on how blacks are treated by police in many areas.
There will always be SOME people offended by anything you say. I use my own judgement to determine if its offensive. I don't think many people who have thought seriously about the matter find a BLM sign offensive.
And no, yard signs are not tacky IMO.
BLM is the modern Black Panther party..... so no I am not putting up a sign that supports that.

And OP can care about black people without putting up a sign that says "look at me!! I'm so white and liberal and inclusive!!"
The sign does not say that, it says that black lives matter. You are reading too much into it.
