My guess is that that they were doing something they should not have been doing and it morphed into this robbery story because the truth would have embarrassed them or made them look bad. Lochte doesn't seem like the sharpest tool in the shed and seems to like a lot of attention (he was on a reality show after all). And now he is safely back home in the US and doesn't have to deal with this. It's all very interesting.

I'm sure that Ryan Lochte can get laid multiple times per night if he wanted to in the village. And if not among the athletes, apparently Tinder has much higher traffic in Rio than anywhere else. Even not being at the Olympics, Lochte can get laid without paying. At the Olympics, he has athletes and spectators galore who would take him up on an offer, why would he seek out a prostitute in an unknown city with high crime?[/quote]
