He did some serious damage to his internal organs so his life could be very different even if he does survive. If he has to go on dialysis or if his heart and/or liver were badly damaged he will have no choice but to make some fairly drastic lifestyle changes.

Certainly his brothel days are almost certainly over. Guy is only 35.

He doesn't *have to* do anything.

My sister has been on life support twice...both times we thought she had finally hit rock bottom. We were wrong. Being in a medically induced coma followed by a few weeks on a ventilator and another week in the hospital (yep, one full month in the hospital) was a swell detox, and she stayed clean for six months until life got "hard" again (hard ranges from a job loss or getting her period and having bad cramps...seriously).

I hope he gets his life together and stays clean, but my experience is it's a 50-50 chance.

I just hope Scott doesn't get any bright ideas and attempt an OD in an effort to get Kourtney back.

It's like any addiction. If you really want to quit and have willpower you will do it. Most people "can't" quit because its easier not to, or they don't have a motivation that they value more than the urge. The only thing stopping them is themselves. And with hardcore drugs you consciously make that decision to get to the point of addiction in the first place. It's not like someone was spiking his food/drinks for years until he realized he can't live without it. I feel for people that are struggling to overcome an existing addiction as someone with a highly addictive personality myself, but it's a sickness that we put on ourselves and could have been easily avoided. At some point in your life, someone came up to you and offered you something that you knew was illegal/addictive/dangerous and you said yes.

Agree with this. I've seen this personally with my father who had a smoking addiction, he couldn't quit until it took him. Exemplary human being, the most loving, caring , spiritually pure person I've ever seen. Early hardships make people take the wrong path.. It doesn't mean they are bad people.
I believe Khloe, truly loves him and is the best person for him. Her divorcing him was tough love

He deserves a happy life, just as everyone deserves a happy life. However, he has to WANT the happy life.... and make smart choices. So if he survives this incident and can return to a physically healthy state, he needs to start making the right decisions, as opposed to decisions for lots of drugs, booze, and brothels.
