Thankfully, these people are not easily deterred. The principal has four EEOC complaints pending against her. The assistant principal has hired her family member and passed over a long term temp for a front office job. The morale at the school is at an all time low. And it's the students who are having to deal with the brunt of this incompetency.
So for Wilson students and parents, stay on it. They are hoping you will lose steam and go away.
Kaya Henderson should be fired. DCPS should have a complete overhaul. Kimberly Martin should never have been hired. She's unqualified and unprepared to deal even the most basic issues.
this was the beginning of an e-mail from DCPS I got today, signed by Kaya:
"Dear Friends,
What a fantastic first two weeks of school! This has been the best school opening I’ve seen in my tenure as Chancellor, and I hope you’re as excited as I am for what this year holds in store for our young people and our community."

I think Lena's departure is why there are so many communication problems also the change over to Jupiter Grades.

I think for 10th graders, it's automatic, though things may have changed. I thought it was also mandatory at SWWHSAnonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:World or US history? What grade is she in? I think AP World is mandatory if you're not in remediation or IEP/ESLAnonymous wrote:My child is still trying to get out of AP History; a class she did not sign up for and was told she could not.
The teacher however, did say she will work with her to get through the semester.
I don't know if I should take let things be or insist on a transfer.
AP s are mandatory at Wilson with those exceptions? Wow. I would not have my child stay in a class they were not registered for did not need simply because it begs the question, what is it bumping?
